Temasek Foundation Digital Annual Report 2022
Temasek Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Singapore. Since 1974, it has established 17 endowments under a diverse range of programmes focused on promoting social and cultural exchange, education, and support for disadvantaged communities in Singapore and across Asia. Collectively, the Foundation’s initiatives aim to strengthen social resilience, foster international collaboration and regional capabilities, advance science, and protect the planet.

Background
Since the launch of Temasek Foundation’s first annual report in 2021, themed “Amplify”, the organisation had been seeking an agency to conceptualise, design, and develop an interactive yet concise digital annual report for the following year, 2022.
Under the theme “Network Effect”, Tuber was tasked with proposing concepts that reflect the Foundation’s purpose and mission, and its vision of being a trusted community partner for a better shared future.
Challenge
In addition to the main theme, the digital report featured three key story pillars, each comprising two to three profile stories — six in total — excluding the leadership, programmes, and other core sections. As the digital report functioned as a content- and story-driven microsite, it was essential to ensure that users could navigate seamlessly between stories and sections while highlighting the organisation’s vision and body of work.
Crafting a consistent structure for navigable content
Before defining the overarching look and feel of the website, our primary focus for this project was to ensure that users could navigate seamlessly through each main story page and piece of content. We reviewed the previous year’s digital annual report and analysed areas for content improvement that could be applied to the current edition.
Additionally, we ensured that each page maintained a consistent information hierarchy, creating a cohesive structure and predictable user behaviour that allowed visitors to familiarise themselves with the microsite quickly and intuitively.
Drawing the users in through content and visuals
With a consistent UI structure in place, it was equally important to strike a balance between content and visuals, ensuring that the content did not overwhelm users. To achieve this, we established a consistent visual style guide covering icons, colours, and the placement of titles and body text across all pages.
Organised categories and pagination for swift navigation
As the microsite was content-heavy, we ensured that each story was carefully grouped and categorised within the main navigation. We also incorporated pagination within each story page, allowing users to move seamlessly to the next or previous related story.
A therapeutic user journey that symbolises connections and partnerships
Keeping the given theme and core philanthropic values of Temasek Foundation in mind, it was important to ensure that the overall design created a calming experience for users as they engaged with the content. The design was kept clean and minimal, with subtle animations that enhanced the overall look and feel while highlighting the breadth of work undertaken by Temasek Foundation.
